Golden 05:31
I open my eyes hoping things haven’t changed since I was awake. I’m lost in my thoughts, remembering what I saw and felt. They were only in my dreams. Hold on to the golden light. It’s only the beginning. The cycle unbroken starts anew with the first breath of the morning. I rush out the door looking for the right melodies to put my thoughts at ease. The same road, the same tracks, it all repeats Day after day, year after year, hopefully it’s what I’m looking for. Hold on to the golden light. It’s only the beginning. The cycle unbroken starts anew with the first breath of the morning.

Time & Fate 05:25
When walls close in Look around for support When doors open Even with the sunlight When walls close in Countless hours taken When doors open Look before you step Time & fate work against me in tandem They are set to mold a choice set in stone Passing by scenes that have come and gone almost daily How am I to know if this is the only design Walls close in, doors open even with the sunlight Walls close in, doors open then time comes to a stand still Back and forth we move between the seasons…. Silent as winter fresh like the spring Passing by scenes that have come and gone almost daily How am I to know if this is the only design Walls close in, doors open even with the sunlight Walls close in, doors open then time comes to a stand still And once again the day turns out to break us And once again time & fate against us And once again the day turns out to break us And once again time & fate against us

So far yet so close When the skies turn grey on an oddly warm April day. You should know the change is coming much sooner than they say. Please take your mother’s word before the wind changes. So much has been heard but you don’t listen. Some say you’re horrified. Others like to look away. Oh you’ll know when it’s gone. Once it’s become the bay.

Coalesce 05:25
Moving fast and the sun’s setting. It paints a blinding picture of realization. Is every choice an implication of what’s to come? Is there value in this? You’ll never fall far from these hands You’ll never fall far from these words The broken pieces come together once again An absence that originates from within Measure the permanence from the face of the stone Broken as it seems the answer has been shown Slowing down it’s broken. It painted a picture of realization. Every choice impacts the map of what’s to come. Is there value in this?

Restless, moving from empty room to room. Each day I play a game with the sky. A reflection only shows a glimpse of what I’m searching for. I can only reach so far. Recount the lines From the top Start over I’m not what I used to be. I’ve grown but it seems most others around have not. I’m lucky to have learned all of what I know. To have those around me for when the wheel keeps turning. I push my hands against the stone head to toe, keeps me in. The stone becomes glass I see the world outside there’s no way to leave. I can’t help but feel content. Recount the lines (echoing from the stones) From the top (of the barren valley) Start over (running with the fear)

Look out, don't give in. The future is on the line. Feel it break your spirit. That's what they've wanted. I know it's what I've told myself. The cycle is never broken. I know it's why I've found myself. What is now has already been. I know it's what I've told myself. The cycle is never broken. I know it's why I've found myself. What is now has already been. Break out, defy the mold. Make your own kingdom. See it before it's too late. Freedom is on the line. I know it's what I've told myself. The cycle is never broken. I know it's why I've found myself. What is now has already been. I know it's what I've told myself. The cycle is never broken. I know it's why I've found myself. What is now has already been. I went to the sea to sail one night. By the moonlight sky I saw my dream; A vast valley between the plateaus of jagged stone I was running downhill. Through the dust and the stones. To what seemed to be a saving grace. I’m not quite sure what was behind. I left the ground and found a light. I was here a time ago. It came back to me as I knew it would. As the day comes to end, just to begin again.

Cycles III 04:26

about

‘Cycles’ is the new studio full-length by Vaskula. After the debut EP John Becker spent the rest of 2014 and all of 2015 working on Austaras’ ‘Prisoner of Sunlight.’ Once released and celebrated with a performance in its entirety Austaras decided to go on indefinite hiatus. Having already begun writing the material that would become ‘Cycles,’ Becker continued meticulously demoing material at his home studio. Adam Hansen (also formerly of Austaras) and Becker began rehearsing during 2016 through 2017 and were later joined by Samu Rahn (Cairn, The Living Fields) and Jeremy Eberhard to begin piecing the material together as a full band. Joining the quartet were the talents of Elizabeth Wadium, Richard Stancato, and Brian Krock who helped mold the album into the flowing piece that is presented.

‘Cycles’ deals with the themes of reflection and repetition in daily life. A departure, a return, and a renewal, it features a common theme repeated on three separate occasions interwoven between songs varying from arena rock, new wave, fusion, prog rock, and synthesizer soundtracks. The ethereal sonic landscape was created using vintage synthesizers and adhering to as classic of a production style as possible. Sit back and let ‘Cycles’ wash over you like an awesome wave, tidal in scope.
